Title: Finds "Thin on the ground"
Post by: Stig(The) on December 12, 2009, 07:56:17 PM
Went out today with JohnD,tried some new land but finds were thin on the ground so we went knocking on doors for permission, the 1st farmer said yeah so we gave it a go.
Had the usual Georgian & JD had a nice little Silver hallmarked buckle + a Silver snuff box, although a little battered.
I had the Dutch coin pendant & a boy Scout badge, quite old but not sure of age, pictured below.

Hey well done Stig just for getting out there. Have been to busy at work to get out for the last five weeks and I miss it like hell. You have new land so you will find plenty more. Well done fella.

Nice finds Stig! I think the Dutch pendent is a jetton.

I used to live in The Netherlands (in the Dam & Utrecht) - I still speak a little of the lingo - can you post what it says on the jetton and I'll try my best to translate it. Be warned though most of my time there for over a year was spent saying "Two beers please!"

Thanks for posting
Neil
