Post by: Jonola (Jon) on November 11, 2009, 05:59:41 PM
Anyone ever use one or any other Tesoro detector for that matter? Interested in any input people might have.

hi jon.
ive just bought a tesoro lazer hawkeye.
about a month ago.i find it very easy to use quite straight forward mate.
now that ive got a tesoro and i ask the more experienced detectorists who have got or had one say they are a very good machine.
i have found some interesting finds in this last month.
roman coin medievel buckle.early roman pin.very good picking up coins.
but some say they are not very good on the beach mate.

I used a Tesoro Eldorado for a few years and in hindsight it was my most productive machine (OK the land was the best  I've had and I happened to have the Tesoro), but very good, reliable machines. Nothing fancy just a good work horse, and the Lobo has a great pedigree, developed for the goldfields to detect small nuggets (17.5Khz) and now the supertrack version for our mineralised soil.
Suki Sal on here and detectorist.co.uk uses them and just look at her finds, it speaks for itself.

I've heard the same about the beach Ray. Not a good reputation. Supposedly good on small silver such as cut hammered. Before shelling out the hard earned cash I'd like to glean from anyone who has a Tesoro/Laser if they would recommend them. My first dealings with Minelab haven't left me impressed. I know I only bought a Quattro but my first impressions aren't great. Found more with a C-Scope!

Casa Dos, Coleg Gwent and Borderfox are probably spitting blood at me dissing Minelab.....I know they find loads!

Money lol. No TBH I just bought this today (£260)  and I think it will compliment the SE ( to heavy for Lisa at the end of the day). I had heard so much about the T2 F75, T2 ltd, F75 ltd it done my head in.Cheapest I could get the F75 was £669 and then I was told to wait for the T2ltd. Trouble is not much fun going detecting without a detector lol and didnt want to borrow one. From what I have read up on the Hawkeye its not a bad machine just hope it arrives by Friday.
