Title: Today`s(22/10/09) tip for any "Newbie"
Post by: Stig(The) on October 22, 2009, 05:27:10 PM
`Newbie`....If you are searching a lot of loose ploughed ground?.....  .... ... .. .try this little tip i heard through the grapevine:

To search an area known for having a lot of nails and other ferrous trash, rake the area first, pulling out most (or all) of the nails/iron. Make a "magnetic rake" out of a 4-prong garden rake and cow magnets (available at any feed store). Attach the magnets with small hose clamps.  ;)

Apparently all the professional & experienced detectorists use this method, not tried it myself,so let the forum know "How You Get On"  ::)

Happy Raking !  ;D

Don`t forget to Log on tomorrow for the next, not to be missed, "Todays tip for any "Newbie"  ;)  ;)
