Title: Welsh Crotal Bell. Post by: StumbledUpon on January 29, 2009, 10:48:14 PM Had a surprise when this popped up yesterday, must have been a foot down (explorer) ;D Found quite local in the west, dont know if they are more common this way? also found the usual broken fibulas, (think they are following me around the country ;D) and a denarius last week in the same area but too far gone for ID,
Pleased with the bell. :) Title: Re: Welsh Crotal Bell. Post by: altinkum on January 29, 2009, 10:55:09 PM cracking finds does your bell still ring

Title: Re: Welsh Crotal Bell. Post by: StumbledUpon on January 30, 2009, 08:16:52 PM Thanks all, :) ringer has rusted away. Hi Pete, the back of the coin has completely gone no detail at all, I will take it to the meeting see if you think there's a chance of you IDing it. Could be a later date with the quality of the silver, I think there could be a roman farmstead nearby, have'nt found the site yet. :)
