Title: Anyone going to Caerleon with 4pin Tesoro Trident 10x12 Coil I can tryout?
Post by: Bob on October 01, 2009, 09:20:22 AM
Hi guys,

I'm toying with the idea of getting a 10x12 coil for my Tesoro Trident 1 but don't want to fork out £150+ only to find that I'm not getting much difference in find rates and depths with my standard 9x8. So has anyone got this type of coil I could borrow for the day to try out?
It will have to be a four pin type and does anyone know if it's just 'plug and play' with swapping Trident coils or does the machine need a tweak or recalibration to be able to use both types?

Cheers,
Bob

Hello Bob :) Iused to own a trident 11 with the standard size web coil never used the bigger web coil you might get a slight increase in depth but expect more trouble when hitting bad ground I don,nt like web coils prefer 2D widescan or polos instead both are better on bad ground look on (GARYS DETECTORS )website he,s fitted the big DD coil to the trident and says the depth is very good it may be better to invest in this coil instead better on bad ground and a lot better ground coverage as it happens I think CRAWFORDS DETECTORS are selling a secondhand one on their website hope this helps good luck PS wish I,D kept the trident nice and light and sensitive  ;)

Thanks for the advice, Dai. Yeah it was the double d type I meant. I should have been clearer :)

Yes, Trigger, at the moment I'm using a 9x8 web coil (black) but wanted to try out a DD. What do you mean by 'trimming'?
Cheers,
Bob
