Title: Modern Coins
Post by: U.K. Brian on July 14, 2009, 09:03:55 AM
My wife has just told me that the one pence coin is to be done away with. She didn't pick up on when this is to happen.
If so I guess it will force me to get down to getting the tumbler out.

So another excuse to raise prices just when we don't need it.

At least being a clad coin they will break down in time unlike the brass threepenny bits that I thought by now would have been detected out of our beaches. I keep digging them but they are not worth cleaning and really are only fit for scrap but I like them. A reminder of when we still had interesting and different coins.
