Title: Lockdown
Post by: carling2 on January 22, 2021, 08:49:11 PM
Well it's being quiet again on here of late( not surprising really) what with lockdowns and a ncmd ban on detecting and personally for me I'm starting to get itchy feet😁 I have loads of permissions and loads of fields in perms that I have yet to even tread on and yesterday travelling along a known roman road and seeing 1 of my perms in stubble made me reaffirm that even though I'm dying to go tecting staying at home is the right thing to do( I really don't want to be on lockdown June July or Aug when as most know that's the optimum time of the detecting calendar so for now I will bite the bullet and keep my fingers crossed for the summer months. Stay safe everyone.

I'd like to get out on a rally or something - even to my usual permission - just to get out of the city!

But I am at least walking to my closest parks and getting some exercise (allowed under Welsh rules).

Five silvers so far (well half silvers) - and plenty of George V and VI pennies and half pennies - plus enough change to get my kids a takeaway every other week or so :)

One day I hope to find a ring - but haven't yet (apart from ones I have gone to find for people who have lost them).

Also thought about doing a video of British coin signals on the Nox - certainly have tested a lot of things in the garden (before the snow).

At least I don't get to drive past too many fields on my way to work to get too many withdrawal symptoms.

Well, we are. at least still able to practice our eyes only skills and prepare all our detecting kit ready for the day that we can all get out there and start swinging again. Since the covid beast broak through our borders I have been shielding, along with my  disabled wife but have been getting out for a walk each day.

To date, I have recovered a couple of quid and four separate bank cards, pluss one full wallet! Oh, and one quality mobile phone.

Yep cleaned my kit, Brought new tectin summer clobber, done the research on land I have permission for( happy to say its untected and there are several fields where I can see hammereds at least coming out of) but haven't walked in yet so now I'm either waiting for a lift of the ncmd ban( subject to gov advice) or end to a lockdown whatever comes 1st really. 5 hammereds so far and 2 silver spoons odly enough for this year (1 dated mid 1700s).i do have land that of course I can walk to and very good land it is but a lockdown is what it is and until a change in a law comes in staying in is the best policy,, because really if we go by past lockdowns and say this 1 is lifted in march, it means another will maybe start in may/June,,, that's 1 part of the calendar I'm sure most of us want to be out,,, let's not f? =k. This one up.
