Title: Looking like a tiny padlock
Post by: GreenBase on November 25, 2019, 12:15:36 PM
Does anyone have any idea what this could be please  :) I thought it was a cartridge top at first but I think it's something else now as the back is just smooth. It looks like a tiny padlock with the top park missing, there is a tiny hole in the centre, but that would be a minute key. It's quite a mystery, but a nice find  8)

Sorry if I’m right but to me it looks like a button.
The side you’re showing would be the back where the sewing on bit would have been and also the makers name.
The bits at the top look like, maybe, iron contamination.

It's difficult to tell from your pics but is there some sort of patterning on the outer rim of the object and if so does it extend onto the two protrusions?

I’m always ready to be corrected GB. But I can’t see how it could work.

Anyway, I’m also always ready to take the best ID that comes along and yours is much more interesting than mine.  ;D  ::)
