Title: stirrup ring Post by: relicron on February 16, 2019, 07:42:53 PM Hello guys ,hope you are all keeping well,myself and tom went to the coroners court on Thursday to see how our 13th century gold stirrup ring is going to get on,anyway we new it was going to treasure but it was still nice to go and have a look at the precedings,its nice a local to us museum is looking to require it so that's not bad,here are a couple of photo's from the court,cheers guys Ron.

Aye it was interesting as it was our first visit to the Coroners Court with regard to a possible treasure item. Information from National Museum was read out in our presence, then Coroner made her decision and that was it, inquest closed.

Doesn’t it have to go through the valuation committee before the Museum makes an offer ? Best of luck with the valuation. They’re not renowned for being generous. It’s a wonderful find. I was at a coin shop today and there were coins there that were significantly more expensive than I would and do pay for them - I think you will get more than the auction I showed - but they're not my field, so can't really comment any more than that :) Title: Re: stirrup ring Post by: Dungbeetle on February 19, 2019, 05:31:41 PM I recorded a very similar stirrup ring with Mark Lodwick a few years ago now and got it back.
