Title: Back to the hammered
Post by: DEADLOCK on January 16, 2019, 12:43:18 PM
Had a day off yesterday so couldn't resist going out detecting,  started slowly nothing much before lunch possible roman grot bacon sandwich and a cup of coffee. Wasn't long before I had the Pilgrim ampulla no marking on it then few hours later william lll sixpence very worn and thin, followed by a acorn draw swing handle. Mixed in with the usual buttons and lead and foil.

Well done, plenty of digging.  I too like the ampula, it's one of the many things on my wishlist.  Cheers.  Tom

Well done, again, Alun. Love to find an ampulla myself. The drawer handle is different, never seen one in the shape of an acorn, nice.
Keep them coming  ;)

nice finds :) - Sometimes it is nice to take some time off to go detecting....

I'm thinking about detecting this weekend, and and all I can hear is the rain hammering against my windows.....

I'm using the time to research my 'new' permission -  discovered one of the reasons I'm not finding much roman is that there is up to 5 feet of modern rubbish in places.
