Was out today in ross on wye and had this absolute smashing william and mary copper coin.
Also a very little roman brooch.

Your not wrong there Al. It’s a smasher, best I’ve seen.
2 questions, what is it ? & what’s going on with the date ?

The date looks like 169+. Did they only have one dye to cover the whole decade ? Wired or what !

Its 1694 , thats the only date they made William and Mary farthings

Yes 1694 farthing unbelievable  condition the best I've  found

I love finding these. I've got one area of a field on a permission that only produces 17th century coinage - most of it halfpennies and farthings of William and William and Mary. Much better than the later Georgies (although I like finding cartwheels too :) ).
