My first thought was Templar Coin but the pics aren’t very clear.
I’m no expert so don’t take my word for it.
It’s certainly an interesting one. Maybe a close up, clear pic will help someone to I’d it for you.

Hope it is a Templar Coin. It’s one I’d just love to find.

It's not mine, unfortunately, Val I'm asking for a friend's Grandfather. I've googled a few Templar images and I think you could be right. Thanks for the help  :)

Couldn’t figure out what’s on the other side of that coin. I’ve just seen one that’s got a good impression, a Rampant Lion.

If the link works, just tap on the small pics to see it.

I wonder if ProBono will know more about it !

Good spot Val.

I did a bit of digging and discovered this image, which is similar to the posted coin.

May not be identical, because I cannot read the legend on the coin.

This one is described as CRUSADER STATES.CYPRUS. Janus AD 1398-1432.Billon Denier

Thanks for that Peter.
Must admit I have a bit of a thing for anything Crusader so jumped on the cross as soon as I saw it.
Lucky finder. Wonder where it was found, hope he gets it recorded.

That's amazing, thank you, Doc. The photos have been sent to me via phone so I can't get any better ones at the moment I am sorry to say. I will feed the info back and try to find out a little more about the coin Val, will let you know anything of interest.  ;)
