Title: Another Brecon MDC weekend camping planned this weekend !
Post by: outlaw on November 08, 2018, 06:58:00 PM
We booked this weekend a month ago. Friday looks a little grim we hope to have tents up before monsoon hits us.
A few have dropped out three of us will battle the elements and have a long detecting weekend.

Farmer has provided us with wood for fire, if we can keep it a light lol

If we manage to find anything  I will post up finds.  ;D

please do :)

Having gone to school in Brecon - I'm always interested in things from the area - especially as I'm ensconced in Taiwan for a few weeks so can't get out to find anything myself  :)

(Although 30°C and sun - even with the pollution, is probably better than a monsoon)

well thank you for words of encouragement...…..

Detecting is all about looking, this was a small hill farm in Monmouth, the plough fields were like an episode out of the 1st world war  glorious mud Pationdale  not sure if spelt ok.

We did brave the wind very gusty wind, it destroyed our gazebo and a tent, luckily I had my caravan on site so the guy stayed with me listening to me snore each night !

After a gust of wind destroyed the gazebo, it rained well no it hammered down, so Friday evening oft we went to pick up a Chinese, on way back my van sunk into mud  half in field and on road, farmer in very heavy rain had to pull me out.

Dispite no finds to display we all had a great time, and even managed a bar b que on our camp fire sat evening, by sunday mid morning we decided to call it a day in case all the vehicles got bogged down, everything was soaked.

I can honestly say I have never ever been on a rally and not found a coin, or buckle and yet that is what happened, no one found anything other than rubbish.

But then finds are never guaranted the thrill must always be the chase.

I did wonder next time we might invite  some guests to join us as we hardly scratched the surface of this farm.  ;D

I think someone said that even on the best farms you find that there are only a few really productive areas, and plenty of areas of very little - well done on your perseverance in the face of the weather.

If it's any help I managed to find a coin by eye on a beach in Taiwan - worth 25p - and that's greater in value than the sum total of my previous finds ever on beaches........
