Title: Equinox power supply
Post by: jondav on October 05, 2018, 07:49:38 PM
Just to let anybody know, if they are considering buying the Equinox, that apparently it does not come with a power supply, for charging  batteries, you have to buy one yourself. At least this was the info on an american site, if this is the case, it,s a bit penny pinching on Minelabs behalf.

With my 600 I had a charging lead that plugs into either a USB port or the 3 pin mains plug with a USB socket. All supplied.

As you are obviously thinking of buying one have you thought to down-load the manual ?

I just had a look at box contents and the charging lead is clearly shown but no mention of the mains plug. It does say underneath that some of the contents may vary.
Obviously they decided to include the mains plug ‘cause I’ve got one  ;D

The Equinox is used in many countries, each having its own design of electric mains plug. It therefore seems reasonable not to supply this item.
My plug was sourced by my club secretary. It has collapsible prongs and two USB points. Perfect for fitting in the accessory box supplied with the detector and for charging the detector and headphones at the same time.
