Title: Eton College badge found near Andover yesterday.

This very nice and interesting badge relating to Eton College was found by me yesterday in
a field near Andover...it dates to first World War era and really nice condition just has one reverse lug and a crown missing....PaulB.

Not many of them around Paul ! Nice find.
Would it have a name on it ?

No Val no name but i believe that Eton College raised a group to go fight in WW1
This would have been a badge issued to a member of that group.
I have contacted Eton College, they have a small Eton museum on site and have promised to
send me more information....Paul.

Ah Paul, shades of ‘Goodbye Mr Chips’. Lovely film but sad.

Shame you’ll never know who owned it but maybe the area it was found may give a clue. Eaton are sure to have name and address for members of the group. Even might have record of any survivors.
