Title: Another Groat
Post by: celticspikey on August 03, 2018, 02:41:31 PM
Not part of the last 2 I had from the cultivated field, this one from my pasture field and very very welcome. Should be an article coming up in the searcher soon on some of my finds from this pasture field. I contacted Harry at the searcher and she said she would like one...Keep swinging guys the crops are flying off, although the benchmark this season is practically unbeatable what with that beautiful Gold Roman ring, but hey I'll give it a go LOL  ;D ::) ;) ;)

That's a cracking groat and not badly clipped at all. the only ones I have ever found have been clipped to Hell and back.

Did you ever see Toe Nail Clipping hoard that Shungav made? It was basically a ball of silver coin clippings and would have cost someone their life if found with it. Interesting.

Hung, drawn and quartered. Or was it off with his head.

Lovely coin Paul. I can see it’s Henry 5th  Tuesday where was it minted ?

Yes Neil, I remember the toe nail clippings. Taking a chance there. I reckon they hid them because they were being investigated. i.e.dragged off for the rack, and never made it back home !
