Title: few of my last finds Post by: Andre on June 26, 2018, 08:52:42 PM found this items last week from pasture,tried yesterday but the soil is like cement,solid.Never thought i would say this but could do with a bit of rain.
A few of the lead items i cant id,the conical one looks like a weight,the other one looks like made by a spoon. That’s a lovely buckle, and you can’t beat a Bull head silver. The leads seem to be all weights of some sort. The conicle one probably, little round one with hole looks like a loom weight. The flat one looks like a coin weight and the one on the end is a weight but not sure what sort. Now that suggests they aren’t all lead. The big, flat one is very much like a palm guard but lead would have been too soft, so not confident on that either. The mangled thingy is also a Georgian shoe buckle. Poor mans variety. Good on you for getting out anyway with these high temperatures. Till it gets cooler I’m grounded, can’t cope with the heat. I guess that a lot of people struggle to detect this days,even depth is reduced with dry soil,unless you do beach detecting. I’m landlocked so I do mainly fields.Some fields I can’t dig mor than a couple of inches.
