Title: Money, Money, Money
Post by: Val Beechey on June 06, 2018, 12:29:51 PM
Just for something to do for 10 mins I had a look through a few of the coins I’ve found over time.
I saw a couple of modern 10p and thought, what they doing in here ? So carried on looking and picking out.
In the end I had just under £10  ;D  a nice little bonus, mostly cruddy so they’ve gone in a tub with some coke.
Pays for parking if nothing else.
Got a most unusual pot top last time out. I’ll try and figure out how to post pic later. (When I get back from the dentist) Arrrrgh

In the bank last week, i asked about old coins, notes etc that had ceased circulation years ago ...  i was told they could be accepted, providing they have all the necessary info on the note/coin!.

i,ve yet to try banking some of the old red 10/- notes!!!!

I haven’t managed to find any of them yet Al. I was a bit disappointed when I realised 2 of my coins were £1 , the old ones.
Still I’ve given them a good wash and already used some in a parking meter. All useful.
What information re. The notes do they want ?

My bank were happy to accept bank notes that haven't been in circulation for almost 35 years, although they still complain about metal detected coins.......
