Title: King Billy
Post by: Greg on May 25, 2018, 10:36:56 AM
As members are complaining that not much is going on, I decided to try and post my sixpence from 2 weeks ago.
1 it may not work
2 as someone once said, I may be some time.
Apologies if I misquoted the great man.

Have reduced it to lowest quality, so please give some quarter.

Thanks AJ and Val, it took about 30 minutes due to failures, but having learned from you Val, I wrote all the steps down, now out to find something so I can try it again. 😀

Well done Greg. Think I’ve cracked it, well in part. I still can’t post pics from my iPad but can from my old lap top (I think)  what a fiddle though.
I take quite a few pics with my phone, great camera.  So if there’s one I want to use, like the one I posted for wittsy, I have to send myself an e.mail with the pic attached.
Phone, laptop and iPad all linked up for e.mail so it goes to all 3. I down load the one on the laptop, down size the pixels using ‘paint’ and then I can post from the laptop and attach the pic.  But ! I remember clicking on an instruction ‘always open in paint’ and annoyingly it does and I can’t figure out how to reverse it  ??? it must an age thing  ::)

Makes a bit of a joke having an iPad don’t it !  ::) another thing the iPad does is put pics in date order of when they were taken so if I transfer an old pic from the laptop I have to search through a couple of hundred pics to find it. >:(.  Argh !

Hi Val, I have a laptop, and until I installed windows 10 😤used it regularly, so being retired and having used an iPhone for a few years, found i could do most of the things I wanted to do on the phone.
With eyesight deteriorating I invested in an iPad, and like you found that it could do most things, but not all, I paid for a few apps, pages for letters; numbers for the odd spreadsheet and graph and a database that I gave up on.
My iphone transfers all my photos to my iPad automatically, don’t as me how, so there is no sending photographs.
To post on DW I use two free apps, PhotoShrinker and image converter, there may be others, the problem is that it does not always work, again don’t ask my why.
The iPad is improving how it works with the updates, until they no longer support your old iPad and make you buy a new one 😬 and I am sure in the near future there will be a simple solution to our problem, if I am still about.
Anyway thanks for the comments, and I had better get off, before someone asks what this has got to do with Metal Detecting. (It’s raining ☔️ outside).
