You have got me back on my hobby horse again, this is one of the best metal detecting sites out there.
I believe the problem is that it is so difficult to upload photos from a phone or a pad, if you are using a laptop it is fairly simple to manipulate the photo to the correct definition/size and convert to another format, not so with the phone 📱 unless you use apps to shrink and then another to convert, I have posted photos in the past with great difficulty and now can’t be asked.
I am not a negative person, but ask what is the problem, other very similar sites do not have this problem. Is it a cost implication?
I know I could use my laptop, from the phone i could post immediately and should we not move with the time.

I used to post from my laptop using ‘paint’ to re-size pics downloaded from camera.
Then it all changed, I bought an iPad and stopped using the camera. Phos from iPad far superior but couldn’t post direct to Forum. Wrong file type !
initialy got around that problem by sending pics from my iPad by email to myself. Picked up on laptop, used ‘paint’ to down-size then post to Forum.
Worked OK for some time but then things changed again. Now the file type doesn’t change when transferred and I’ve found ‘paint’ no longer works with windows 10..
I just gave up in the end. All too confusing for me.

Hi Val, I have Paint shop Pro 8, and works fine with Windows 10, is that the same as yours ?.

Thanks Val for confirming the nightmare, there will be many more out there that have probably had to jump though hoops to post a photo.
With all the skills members have on this site, I am sure someone can come up with a SIMPLE solution.

I imagine I have a much earlier version of paint. I’ve got an app on the iPad now for re-sizing and it’s very easy to use. It’s called ‘Image Size’ but the biggest problem is the sort of file. I tried to down load one and kept getting the message, wrong file  and a list of which files I could use.
I haven’t the faintest idea what sort of file you get on the iPad. If I attach it to an email it works perfectly. The laptop is jpeg and tells me the transferred pic is jpeg but the Forum still doesn’t recognise it.
Think the old camera might have to come out of mothballs. I’ve only just got back to Detecting with a new Equinox and still on short outings after the broken leg so not too bothered at mo. Need to find something worth showing.

Greg I’ve wondered the same. What changed and can it be changed back. I struggle to keep up with all this techno stuff and I’m sure I’m not on my own.

Having said that my Paint Shop works I just remembered I haven't posted a pic for a long time, so I will try now
