Post by: relicron on April 16, 2018, 10:46:50 AM
Following on from toms post,i think he forgot to mention my lucky find,it was rather funny how it happened, anyway we were detecting away finding bits & bobs, when I said to tom I think I better head for the trees as I got cut a bit short,so I walked up through 2 fields to the woods, went behind a very big tree leaned my detector agains the tree, and that was that,i then picked up my detector and took one step and had what sounded like a button,i dug the hole out,and my eyes nearly popped out of my head, when I found this beautiful item,it must have been fate, chheers guys Ron. ;D

Wow Ron, what a lovely find. Now that’s got to be the call of nature. Well found.

Sorry, can’t work out the marks. But it’s a Victorian bar brooch, top notch as well.

Well found Ron, that's a cracker.
I can tell you it's 15ct Gold, Assayed in Chester in 1898, but I'm not familiar with the maker.

Unfortunately it looks like it's missing the back. Take another look in the surrounding area, you may get a result  ;)
