The item in question may well have been lost at another location on the farm. Myself and a few friends were thanked by the Farmer and the chap who lost the ring. I’ve been out a couple of times on a similar search. Both times the ring was found nowhere near where the owner thought and neither time with my detector :'(
Being strangers John went with me. He found both of them :o One with the pin pointer and the other as he was walking back along the track.
