Title: Detech ultimate coil problem
Post by: rainyday on January 07, 2018, 03:10:52 PM
I bought a detech ultimate coil for my safari on 3/4/17, under a year ago from an ebay shop, today my machine starting playing up.  After a quick look the were the cable goes thru the shaft the wire could be damaged due to movement in the coil, Ive not had this problem with other machines or with the original coil.
I did read someone else had the same problem with the same problem.  Anyone else heard of this?
I have contacted he seller but I doubt they will do anything to help.
Thanks
D

check connection between cable and machine ( silver threaded bit ) can work loose and cause issues  ,

Hi "Rainyday".... firstly... happy New year...👍
With regards to your coil problem,it may well worth you removing the coil cover,as sometimes very, very small particles of aluminium can find their way underneath the coil cover and in turn give you some real erratic responses.
I've had a similar problems especially after/during a beach hunt.
Anyway,just a thought....Good hunting..👍

Hi dingdong, happy new year buddy :)
I have heard this happening before, I will give it a go but I think it might be the cable,
Thanks

Had the same problem, I found one or two  of the leads into the coil were open circuit, I managed to re- solder them, it worked fine for a few trips out, but failed again, if you can solder them ! and seal the joints [ which I failed to do } you may get lucky, I ended up buying a new Ultimate coil, good luck . Ken.
