Title: Just upgraded to Deus v4 with HF coil....WOW!!!! Post by: spaceonwhite on January 06, 2018, 09:53:07 PM I'm not long into my second year of detecting and have been using a Garrett Ace 400i, which I found great as a newbie to the hobby. Notched up 5 hammered and 2 romans so it was a great detector but felt it was time I got my teeth into a more in-depth detector.
Decided to upgrade to the Deus v4 with a 5x9 High Frequency coil and took her out for the first time this morning onto a field which I've been over and over with the Garrett, to a point I thought there was nothing left. I can't get over how wrong I was! Only used the basic program but wow, the Deus is a beast!!! It was like being on a new field with so many good signals. Picked up a nice little Victoria 1853 threepence. I used to get a lot of interference on this field with the Garrett but nothing with the Deus! I was digging a fair bit of iron and hot rocks but I need to learn what I can do with the menu on the detector. I was amazed at the small targets I was finding at depth! Feels like I've gained a whole load of new permissions, as I can't wait to go over them all again ;D ;D ;D ;D Title: Re: Just upgraded to Deus v4 with HF coil....WOW!!!! Post by: Mark4 on January 07, 2018, 12:19:37 AM I upgraded my Deus from the 3.2 to the v4 with the standard 11inch coil,What a difference, Picked up a bit of iron, but I thought the field had been played out after 19 years of detecting by the club, Found an Anne and a cut quarter.
