For what it's worth rainday, I think you've made a good decision considering your recent posts on the choice. I know the Equinox is not properly tested yet, it just needs a few to get out on our beaches and fields and we will see, look forward to your experiences and best of luck.   ;) ;)

He who dares Rodders:)
Someone has got to go first lads.
But seriously looking at the videos on YouTube it seems impressive and if it's not I'm sure I will be able to sell it for a good price.

Looks like a good choice mate, Iv been looking at the equinox as a future upgrade so I eagerly await your early thoughts on the performance. did you go for the 800 or the 600 it would be interesting to hear your reason for choosing one over the other, thanks, happy hunting.  ;D

my view is I'm a very sceptical person on new technology based detectors that promise great things especially since the saga of extreme depth from the blisstool team  [does anybody remember them] so with all that hype in mind I now tend to sit on the fence and await the feedback on this one.as for the release date some say by Christmas others say april/may and with a lots of interest in this new detector it might well be the latter for most of us.

It'll be interesting to see how you get on with it.

I'm currently sticking with my trusty E_TRAC - doesn't matter what else I buy (except maybe the Deus) I keep going back to it........so it would be nice to have the same stuff, but lighter :D

Very wise words Buzzerman,...if you look at the "blerb"  of every manufacturer  bringing their "new" machine one might believe it's as deep as a JCB with a coil attached .. LOL 😀 !!
Let's all just wait and see,as this time next year it will be another detector on the shelf Beng offered for sale at bargain prices, and even some second hand deals that are up for grabs from disappointed purchaser's who rushed out to buy the new technology and finding out that it actually wasn't as good as the detector they got rid of !!...just a thought !!
Good hunting...👍

Well, congratulations on your faith and courage and may you be greatly rewarded for your early pioneering. I'm betting that more than a thousand eyes will be upon you and anxiously awaiting your early reports.

As a fellow Safari swinger, looking for a lighter backup machine, I contemplated waiting for the Equinox but governed by financial restraints I opted for one of the new "Chinese" Quest Q40 machines and was even lucky enough to get two hundred notes knocked off the original price.

Val strongly advised me waiting for the Equinox release and I can just imagine her, in a few months time, saying "well didn't I tell you so?"    ::)

                                                  Chris  ;)

No matter Chris. Looks like, for you, the choice of machine has worked out. Your first forays seem to be successful and long may you continue.
I still like the look and sound of the Equinox. Time will tell.
I ‘went and did it’ as well, I gave up.
I’ve had 2nd thoughts many times. I even dream about detecting. Maybe because DW is usually my last visit before I go to bed. How sad is that  ::)
Unfortunately I’m suffering that old complaint of old age,  the body is weak but the mind is willing.
Love watching the finds being posted and still spend the odd hour researching, which I always enjoyed. Nice thing about that is I don’t have to trudge up and down muddy fields in the wind and rain.
New catch phrase........You find it,  I’ll ID it’.  My latest hobby  ;D

Well Val, as far as I am concerned, your advice and guidance will always be welcome and shall look forward to reading your posts for many years to come.

                                Chris  :)

although I've got my name on the list for the new equinox i'll stand by the decision I made a short time ago and await the feedback on this new detector from the minelab camp as only time will tell if what they are saying is proven one way or the other.for those who have already taken the step in purchasing the new equinox have a good Christmas and happy hunting with your new detector.8)buzzerman

I’ve now gone and undone it!
As you will see in my op back in November I put a £200 deposit an equinox with detectorbits.
Well today I thought I would give them a call given the fact that Minelab has now started to ship them so I could see when they wanted the balance paid.
I was told that they don’t know when I’ll have my machine because anyone who has paid in full since me paying the deposit jumps the queue.
So now I’ve now gone and undone it and got my money back!

I found some gold with mine :) - I know I found at least one half noble and a half sovereign with mine, although I will also admit that I found more with my pinpointer :)
