Title: Simple, effective program for X Terra 70 Post by: JohnF on December 02, 2008, 11:11:54 PM Sensitivity: As high as poss without chatter. (Important to use high sensitivity with the X Terra as depth capability can drop dramaticly below 25ish)
Volume: max (adjust with headphones) Noise cancel: Auto Threshold: To suit user Tones: 2 Ground balance: Auto Track: on Search pattern: All metal This is the set up i use on 99% of sites i visit and has served me very well indeed. Dig all high tones, ignore solid low tones. On very noisy sites i may use pattern 1 with -8 & -6 blocked out and slow my sweep speed right down. my favourite coil is the 10.5 round DD med freq 7.5, Its a brilliant coil that offers the best depth, stability and is sensitive to the smallest hammered coins. It seems much more decisive on signals than the high frequency coils. Happy Hunting. ;D Title: Re: Simple, effective program for X Terra 70 Post by: Steve Morris on December 11, 2008, 06:10:06 PM My hammered coin rate went up with John's program, very simple and very effective!
John and I found 2 seperate cut halfs within meters of each other with no problems On the trashy sites, i pop my 70 into pattern 1 and pump the threshold up to 10, iron will give you a blank in the threshold background hum. Watching John in the field is a lesson worth learning, very clinical and always gets results Steve |
