Title: Local Pub Memorabilia
Post by: simond on October 03, 2017, 05:46:30 PM
On Sunday in Greenfield I found this pub token made for John Ames of the Alexandra Inn in Greenfield (late 19th century) made by W Smith of Birmingham.  I'm not sure if it's two pence or two pints but unfortunately I can't redeem it as the pub is long gone!  ::)

Thank you Val I was very pleased to find a little bit of very local history. I've found a couple of references to John Ames in newspaper archives but very little about the pub itself. It could be a very rare little thing  😁
