Title: Garrett AT Pro
Post by: Evans97 on September 11, 2017, 07:59:02 PM
Please help. Does anyone know how to clean the terminals on the control box of AT Pro? Mine are turning green and don't know the best way to do it. I have thought of vinegar, coke & tin foil etc but don't want to get the inside parts wet. I'm at a loss as don't know how or want to take it apart. Many thanks Joe

Hi Joe.
You need to understand why they are green, Have you had a battery leak, or has some sea water got in?, if so you may have bigger problems to come.
Be careful not to use anything abrasive, as the contacts will probably be silver or chrome plated and if you remove the plating the problem will keep coming back.
I used to use a product from Electrolube called CCS (contact cleaning strips) they are used to clean gold and silver edge connectors without removing the metal, only the tarnish, so I think they will do the job. Don't know if you can still get them, originally supplied by RS components.
