Title: Wet wet and wet again
Post by: roughneck on July 23, 2017, 04:59:51 PM
Me and Ron braved some heavy showers yesterday to unearth a few finds.  We had a proper soaking before deciding enough was enough and it was time to 'head for the hills'.
We did however enjoy our few hours out in the fields and had a few finds to show for it.
Best finds were a sestertius of Antoninus Pius (we think), a bullhead shilling, a James 1st half groat (we think) and a small gold wedding band hallmarked 1778/9 by William Eley 1st of London (with Birmingham hallmark), and a quite nice buckle. The rest of our finds consisted mainly of bullets, lead, buttons and the usual scrap.
So all-in-all it was a nice day even though the weather did it's best to prevent us enjoying it, so Happy Digging everyone, come rain or shine!!!
Cheers.  Tom.

Thanks guys.  Much appreciated.  We go out every weekend no matter what the weather.  (within reason of course).  Have a look at this weekends post, it was a funny old sort of day.
Cheers and Happy Digging!!!  Tom.
