First time it's been plough been over it once I only found a a lead spindle whorl any tips most appreciated

Looks like a very well used spindle whorl. Slight hint of a pattern.
I've always found fresh plough difficult. I remember Geoff explaining it was because of air pockets in the soil. Maybe you'll do better when/if it's rolled.

Fresh plough ankle breaker, hard to detect 😮😮. I prefer it after it has been rolled much easier. However I prefer it best if all when the crop has grown and been harvested, the soil has compacted and all the air has been flattened out of it.

Yep !...it looks like a whorl to me...and definitely go with the notion that soil is much more detectable once rolled....I bet you find much more in the Autumn /Winter...well done a very nice historical find....well done..👍

I went to a fresh ploughed field a couple of weeks ago and only managed to get targets near the surface.The deep ones were mainly horseshoes and stuff like that.

Ok  cheers for all the advice it's the first time the field has ever been plough it's a ten acre full of Reid's and some big rocks it's been sprayed to kill it back contractors came in to deep plough it unfortunately plough a bit and snapped is plough he is not coming back sow its going to be plough six inches the rest😈
