Edward III, probably fourth coinage, pre-treaty period, series G, Durham mint, Spink 1597.

You're doing well at the moment Alan.

Ed III's are usually quite distinctive aren't they :)

Thanks  guys for the ID. It is much appreciated. 

I can also breathe a sigh of relief as it's not related to the 10 other coins found in a nearby area, found a few years ago by my colleague.  ;D
