Title: Mark Lodvick
Post by: Dryland on December 03, 2016, 07:44:06 PM
I've been trying to get hold of Mark Lodvick for the past couple of months, every time I phone Cardiff Museum he's either not answering his phone or he's in a meeting. I leave my number and I'm assured that he'll phone me back, but he never has. Anyone got any Ideas ?

It's been over 2 years since I gave him my gold ring and apart from the receipt that he gave me I've heard nothing, is this the usual process.

Mark is a very busy fella, I am sure if you send him an email same as posted earlier he will reply when he is able.

When you stop to consider all the finds he processes and records for all the welsh clubs  and the digs he under takes he deserves a lot of praise.

A great guy. ;D

Apart from all his other duties, bear in mind how much work is carried out behind the scenes. There's a lot of re-organisation going on at the present which is adding to the work load.
Nice to see you on here again Dylan, you've been missed. Must say I'd be a bit concerned at a 2 year wait. Isn't there anyone else you could ask.

Val the love of my life , Glad to see you're still alive. ;D ;D ;D  I've missed you as well. Apart from the receipt are we supposed to be kept in the loop as to how the process is progressing, or do I just wait ?

Dylan you old romantic. It's a good job we all know you.

From what I've read of others experiences I'd say you should, at the very least, have had a notification of the Coroners sitting and a copy of his decision.
Waiting times seem to be patchy, to say the least. I remember someone saying it was nearly 3 years before an item was returned.
If Mark is otherwise engaged it might be a good idea to start making a pest of yourself with anyone who'll listen.

The E.Mail ad given above is missing a vital full stop....after mark

Its mark.lodwick@museumwales.ac.uk

I usually get a reply on next working day and he has now returned from Jury service.

All non treasure items are given to him to record at club meeting every two months and usually returned in a similar time scale.

Treasure items are another matter as all he does is collect and basic record items then go off to British Museum and most of

the long delays are caused by the BM.

If a treasure item and its been a long time i advise contacting Ian Richardson at the BM He has always been very helpful

His E.Mail is  IRichardson@britishmuseum.org

His role is "treasure co-ordinator"....

Hope this helps.

Non treasure items no excuse for two years delay...He does attend most large clubs in Wales for recording purposes so might

be a good idea to attend one of these sessions and speak to him directly.

Do ensure you have the pink slip with item number available otherwise you will meet delays.......PaulB. 8)

Hey Dryland....it's Mark LodWick...not LodVick...perhaps that may be the problem ?
Just a thought !! ???
