Title: Sunshine and Silver Post by: wittsy1 on October 10, 2016, 01:12:36 PM What a cracker of a Sunny Sunday it was yesterday and got these 2 to go with it, so well pleased with myself if I may say so. Any ID on the hammered would be appreciated, I think I can go as far as saying it is an Edward but which one and which mint I don't know.
Title: Re: Sunshine and Silver Post by: Val Beechey on October 10, 2016, 03:34:38 PM Nicely found that man. The hammered is a bit odd. I reckon it's Edward 3rd but the cross is strange. The bottom section seems to stop short. Wonder what the Gurus will make of it.
Well found Title: Re: Sunshine and Silver Post by: congerman on October 10, 2016, 03:56:58 PM very nice finds well searched
Title: Re: Sunshine and Silver Post by: The Doc on October 10, 2016, 08:49:43 PM Well done. The hammered is an Edward I penny, Lincoln mint, Class 3g. Looks like it shows a partial mis-strike resulting in a garbled legend and extra pellets.
