Title: Peace of mind !!!
Post by: dingdong on September 30, 2016, 05:39:12 PM
Hi,dunno but as I get older I seem to be getting a (lot) more paranoid over loosing my car/house keys when out in the fields metal detecting.
So,ive solved the problem by sewing in a piece of looped  elastic to the inside of the back pocket on my finds pouch,i then used one of those small aluminium carabina's which then loops onto the elastic, then I can attach my keys onto the carabina which will secure my keys and cannot fall out and get lost on any event, even if you inadvertently open the back pocket of your finds pouch......well it certainly works well for me !!!

What's the cure for leaving keys in car door ?

Done it 3 times now but last time I went out I put the keys on the depression of the boot catch. Thought that if I forgot them and put the boot cover down it wouldn't close and it would remind me to lock up before I left the car.
Now you might ask 'why were the keys in the door '......to remind me to lock it  ::)

It must be an age thing  ;D

Good idea, I lost mine in a field a few weeks ago, miles from anywhere and had walked through about 4 large fields, i had had them in a secure pouch on my belt but the zip broke and they fallen out. Fortunately I found them ab out 200 yards from where I noticed them missing but it's a horrible feeling. I was expected home early that day as well but it turned out alright. I might just do something similar to that what you have done but maybe on a chain in my pocket to my belt. All good fun isn't it.
