Title: Bronze or meteorite.....? Post by: dingdong on July 20, 2016, 08:51:17 PM ???....Hi guys and gals,just stumbled on this little bit of "whatever"it looks a bit bronzish !! But on closer inspection on the concave side it looks a bit meteorish !
It weigh's in at 1.6 Oz's (4.3grammes) so quite heavy,any way of finding out? I've been looking at some pictures of pieces of meteorite,a couple of pictures look a 'bit' similar. Divide the weight by the ml of water displaced and you will have the s.g. Iron meteorites are very dense about 8 g/cm3 The more common chondrites meteorites are about half that. After the test if you think it's still a meteorite, there are a few websites that will help you with some more tests. |
