I've started using them on my MACRO RACER,a be using them has increased the depth capabilities of the machine by a good 4" also the don't need a coil cover and that's GUARANTEED......got to be with a look....hope this helps...👍 Title: Re: Coil depth ? Post by: buzzerman on July 21, 2016, 11:38:49 AM for your information when selecting other coils for the Tesoro lobo it is very important that you choose a coil with the right configuration to your detector.the choice of coils which are available are normally either concentric or dd.choosing the wrong configuration could really affect the performance of your detector but there are lots of Tesoro made coils available either concentric or dd the largest being a 12"x10" and the smallest being 4"diameter.

It was a superb machine for finding hammered coins and small artifacts, but only when detecting on clean non-contaminated sites. It was a horror on mineralised and trashy sites and also on very wet grass due to false signals. I believe the reason it behaved like this was because it worked at an operating frequency of just under 18000 kHz which is high for a single frequency machine. My concern is that you may decide on a larger coil to achieve the extra depth you desire, only to exacerbate any over-sensitivity problems. |
