Title: Silver ring
Post by: Resurgam on May 21, 2016, 02:41:15 PM
Had breakfast in Prestatyn the other Sunday and then took a walk round the Sunday market. Loads of junk and general car-boot booty.
Whilst sifting through a box of bric-a-brac, I noticed a damaged ring nestling amongst the rubbish and decided to buy it out of general curiosity.

The ring is silver with three gold plates attached. The central square plate is damaged and carries the initials of the one-time owner. On each shoulder is a small plate carrying a strange emblem that looks a bit like a flying R2D2, or a winged Dusty Bin. My daughter says it looks a bit like a scarab.

                        The ring is stamped inside

                                                                        V

                                                                   SILVER
                                                                       9C

Any ideas what the winged thingy represents?

Thanks Val. Bikers, as in Hell's Angels?

By the way; my wife's cousin died a couple of years ago and his wife asked me to see if I could get rid of some fuel cartons from their garage. I'm sitting on about five gallons of model aircraft engine fuel, in 5.5 ltr cartons.  Do you suppose that some model enthusiast would pay £15 for the lot? Or will it have gone off by now?
