He believes its an incomplete strap fitting of the "Carolingian" era dated it to between 800 and 1,000. Stated it is very scarce in this country with only a few recorded on the PAS Database. If anyone wants to see the write up of another found in U.K. check out PAS Record number SF8855. I have E.Mailed the pictures to Mark Lodwick who will record it at next club meeting.
