Title: xp Deus question
Post by: adt69 on March 23, 2016, 10:33:17 AM
Hi all
using the dues in fast mode works great for me as where i detect its infested in iron, does lowering the frequency slow down recovery speed.

hello adt69,i use the Deus lite and love the full tone, and lower the frequency and to 12 or sometimes 8 all according where I am,and I don't think it alters the recovery,i love full tones with disc on 5 sens on 90 ground balance on 90,and if its there it will find it,cheers Ron. ;)

I use mine on the beach , i find the beach programs are awful dont find much with them so i use it in Deus fast it has found me loads so far, the beach i detect is cover in iron thats the reason i you fast mode, if i drop frequency to 12khz should it give me more depth and still same speed.

Lower frequencies slower recovery speed, higher frequencies faster !

Agreed with Nigel, but lower frequencies mean deeper and the recovery speed at 4Khz is still pretty good. See the Gary's Detecting video on using 4Khz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wgzmbv2khHI (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wgzmbv2khHI)

Have you tried the beach settings in the instruction book.  That's what I use and get on quite well with them. The only thing I change sometimes is the frequency but only on dry sand then I go up to 18 khz in the hope of getting a bit more depth.
It's very chattery one wet sand though so I stick with 12 kHz.

I find the beach mode rubbish, I use program 2 and it works great.

No not the beach program as it comes. If you look through your manual you'll find a section on beach detecting. It gives you alterations to make if you have trouble with the pre-set.
But if you're happy with program 2 (designed for land) then stick with it.
