These winds we've been having haven't made much difference to the beaches because they've been Westerlys. If anything they've brought the sand up.
I remember an elderly fella telling me that when he was a boy they had an huge storm from the East and next day his Dad, and others walked the beaches picking up items as they went. His dad took a ring home and gave it to his Mom. Something they would never have been able to buy.
