Title: One of My Fields
Post by: Val Beechey on February 02, 2016, 10:07:31 PM
Just an example of how much rain we've had recently.  The field is on a slope and in the 15 years I've been here it's never had water in it. No stream nearby. The water is just oozing up out of the ground. I can only assume the water table has got so high it's finding new out-lets.
Nice bit of Sun shine this morning though  ;D

p.s. you need to zoom in, centre towards the top.  Pic taken from my kitchen

What is even more amazing Paul is that you are the first one that has recognised the main idea of my original design idea for my garden.  Give that man a pat on the back.
When we bought the place it was just a bungalow in a field. The only thing that marked out the garden was a post and rail fence. Not a plant or bush in sight.
It is such a lovely view I did'nt want to loose it but use it. The idea was that the garden would appear to roll into the landscape.
A very romantic and ambitious idea for an amateur but I think it worked out well.
Now, let's get detecting.

great view Val and well done to you and John for achieving a great result.

as for the water table .. perhaps go searching around for the location of the long lost  hidden springs ..... you never know what you may find there!!!  ;D ;D

If you'd seen the flooded fields at Llandowrer today you'd have thought we could. I've seen them flooded many times in the 16 years I've been here but never that bad. The water was up over part of the old road.
Took (dragged) the dogs out this morning and must have looked like a drunk sailor the way the wind kept blowing me sideways.
Looks a bit better for tomorrow  ;D
