Title: what is it? Post by: smudgecd on December 13, 2015, 06:24:52 PM Well guys and girls went out today and found this. It appears to be bronze, asked a few people who have said its a candle holder, a bell, candle outer and the end off a scabard. Found on a site that pulled up some roman and medieval finds but this is puzzling. Any info would be great age especially.

Post by: dingdong on December 13, 2015, 06:42:44 PM Could well be a sword chape,looks a bit big to be a dagger chape,certainly got some age to it,13/14th Century, at a guess !!very interesting find,that's just the sort of fascinating find I enjoy detecting for,well done,and well found,great photographs !! 👍
