As a newbie im confused as to the practical uses of quickmask on the E-Track.I have read the page on it in the manual but dont really get the idea.... anyone give an example of use in the field ?

Is the lack of response because.... know body has a clue... or...its that obvious it doesn't merit an answer  ??? ha ha

 :D :D :D The quick mask isn't used that much in the UK as we don't tend to use block discrimination like they can in the USA or Australia, basically it's a second discrimination pattern which is less than your main one which you can switch between to try and get a better idea of what "iffy" signals are ;)

Thanks .....feel stupid asking sometimes but ive only ever used a White's Prizm 4 and thats only for a few months and as i guess you know there totaly diffrent machines worlds apart .... ::)

I use quick mask just as all metal mode, open screen, flick between screens, after doing a patch, I believe it gives slightly more depth, plus with a iffy signal, you can adjust your discrimination while over the object.
