hi all     ...  i took beefy    millsey   and stig   onto one of my farms  this evening............forgot my jacket   freezing ,,,  anyway  we set off   and before long we were all getting finds   ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,  i get a good beep ,,,,, dig it ,,,,  and  turns out to be my first hammered  henry  8th  ,,,,,,,,,,,,,    i scream over to millsey  who came over to verify it for me   ,,,,,,,,,,,  when he said the words  hammie ,,,, i shouted across to stig and  beefy ,,,,,,, its  clear on one side  but  totally scratched to  nothing on the  other   but i dont care  im  over the moon ................  everyone got finds    but i will let them tell you  heres a few pics  from this evening  wooooooo                 hoooooo    ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well done on your first hammered, I would love to find a Henry VIII coin in any condition; yours looks like it hasn’t even been clipped.  There’s probably more there too  :) ;D

The profile of the face is not detailed enough and also the mint mark is wrong and the coin is too uniform in shape .I have found a hammered of this era  and everything about it is tottally wrong  :'( iam gutted for you  :'( its got a edward v1 southwark mint mark on it and his profile is tottaly different on a genuine coin southwark mintmark is an E

Try the spit and foil test , if no smell not silver, looks like it may be a pewter replica, if the back is blank then that doesn't fit in with the condition of the rest of the coin, they just don't come out of the ground like that, Sorry Digga! :'(

Oh well Digga,never mind you'll get another,did'nt say anything before as i was'nt sure but the condition is a bit to good,as the others say my first thought was that it could be a replica,still sounds like the site has potential and i hope the other lads did'nt plant it there  ::)

I bet you're gutted with that - as you say someone maybe trying to wind you up, but if it was six inches down in undisturbed pasture, it must have been there some time. I have to agree that it is a repro though :'(
