Title: Save abit-a-dosh!!
Post by: dingdong on September 12, 2015, 07:39:37 PM
I wonder it any of you have ever overtightened the through bolt that connects the coil to the shaft,"come on now,be honest"well something happened to a mate of mine!!!! when "HE" accidentally overtightened the plastic screw!!
Now he wasn't to impressed with the price of the off the shelf branded replacements...scandalous!! to say the least.
So "HE" went down to the local B&Q an bought a couple of replacements originally designed to hold the "LOO" seat in place,OK,you get a few bits and bobs that you don't need, but, what you do get is two nice plastic bolts, complete with the appropriat plastic nuts, and not only that the bolts are the exact diameter to fit through the shaft into the coil,PERFECT!!
And the price,£3:99,and not forgetting, that's for two!!
Now if you were to order one "detector bolt replacement" the postage alone can cost you £3:00.
So,you never know when these little blighters are going to bust, get yourself prepared, carry them on you when detecting,.....just in case.👍
P.S.apologies to those veteran detectorist's with years  of experience, this "TIP" was purely to help those of less detecting experience, and knowledge, thanks for looking.👍

Thanks for the tip, I can get another 39p off, if I pick it on Wednesday. And it will be at home with the "stuff" I pull out of the ground.
