Title: Re: His lads Post by: Val Beechey on August 24, 2015, 02:29:00 PM Wish you all the best. Always a sad day when you have to give up something you love doing.
Hope you get the radio you're after. It's great fun, I tried it many years ago. My Son had one. Believe it or not I had a 'handle' 'Big Momma' I talked a driver off the M6/M5 junction one night in a blizzard. He'd never been to the Midlands before and wanted directions to a storage facility not far from where I lived. Lovely Lad. If I remember right it was about 2 in the morning when he finally got there save and sound. Title: Re: His lads Post by: dingdong on August 24, 2015, 05:43:52 PM Hey Val,was that in the days of the old CB radio, used to love it my handle was "ding dong"... LOL,LOL!!!!!
Or was it " short wave",posh amateur radio, got to have a transmitting licence to do that, mind you,I wouldn't mind a go at that myself when detecting gets a bit too much😕 Title: Re: His lads Post by: Val Beechey on August 24, 2015, 07:35:09 PM CB Radio Chris. Spent almost as much time on it as the kids.
