Hi Greg,and all,as promised,the first picture of the lead lion,sorry for the poor quality of the picture,I will endeavour to get something a bit better,it was detected on farmland in West Wales last week,and I might add,not by me but by my detecting buddy Andy,I think it could be made from a musket ball,well the weight's about the same,more information to follow,thanks for looking,and I await your comments

Thanks for posting Chris.  It's def. a Lion,  it's def. very old,  it's def. part of something but, what a shame we'll never know what.

Hey Greg,that's uncanny,has your mate any information on his lion find.
The one that my mate found was on pastures in West Wales.

 I  have one too,  i posted it on here about 6 months ago as someone else had had one also mine was found north wales

heres my lion head can it be I`d as a Roman lion head?

Hi Jayhay69,your lion looks a lot more Roman than the one my mate found
Yours seems to be made of bronze,my mates is definatly made of lead,so not too alike!!!...thanks for showing it.👍

Hi dingdong.
Ye, my mate found it near Llandovery, the FLO said it was c1700 decorative item,whatever that means.
