Have you thought about getting a Golden Mask 1+ (18khz version)?

And there are (every so often) GM 3 + for sale for less than £200.

You need to buy the detector that suits the land your detecting, I agree that the GM1+ is a good deep machine for the money.

Couple of machines on Preloved around that price now. Haven't checked Gumtree today yet but there are often some on there too.
