Hi Guys,the original picture did not do this brooch justice and was bugging me :-\ sorry for repeating it, here is better ones ;) do not expect replies I had them already. :)

Trouble with photos is they're only 2 dimensional and can never replace actually holding an item and seeing it in real time.

It really is an exceptional find and one that I'd be buzzing about for months.

It really is a stunner and probably the only chance I'll get to see one in that condition ;)

Hope you don't mind I just stuck it on a black background as I though it showed it off better...

Now that's what I call a truly exceptional find,and a truly exquisite photograph,that really does put a lot of my finds in the shade,again,very,very well found,and very,very, well done mate👍👍

Mind ??? Must be joking Geoff, It now looks as if its in a museum case, I love it mate, thanks I will be recording it with FLO soon

Just looking through the benets artefacts book and there's one the same although the one in the book is broken on page 382 and it's listed as being saxon. Maybe some saxon pennies may be nearby.

Cheers benny, I have seen it mate, it's under Saxon but these brooches are attributed to Roman, not Saxon! not sure why it's in the Benet's book under that heading. I did ask Chef For his oppinion and agrees the same, also my brooch although not found in archeolical context it was found with only early Roman material, never had Saxon on these fields they tend to be in the valleys in more sheltered fertile areas.  ;) ;)

Just like busses Dale you find one and then!!!....looks like mine is the nicer one but still a very nice brooch mate, and I've just agreed with Harry at the searcher to do an article on the brooch and a few more things so I guess there will be another one in soon ??? Thanks for putting it up mate I haven't got the mag yet  ;) ;)

That's a quality item :) thanks for sharing - with Chef's black background it looks the business !
