Title: Minelab full harness???
Post by: dingdong on March 30, 2015, 01:57:12 PM
Anyone out there got any experience using the Minelab full harness?
I am currently using a "detectorbits" easy swing but even that can cause fatigue after a while!!
I think that the Minelab harness retails at about £90:00..ish!!!so any recommendations/or not would be most welcome, thanks in anticipation. DD

Hello mate I have this type of harness and have used it with my nel coil ,what  I found that it does even the weight out over your shoulders but you must get the plastic support bar tight so it  does not stand off your body. When I come to one of the meeting I will bring it so you can try to see what you think ?Or if you can make your way to Carmarthen I can take you on a days hunt with it on ?
The down side to it I think is that the Velcro strap with hook on for the balance is on the grip of my etrac and sometime gets in the way but easy to unhook and hook back on bungee ,,,,,mogs

Hi ya mate, the harness I now use I bought it off Val B,it was initially a multi-pocketed army vest type thing,it didn't fit Val,and to be honest, myself not attaining six feet !!! When I worevit I looked like a collection of walking pockets!!
SO,I removed ALLthe pockets, which then left a very useful fully adjustable detecting harness,as there are already very strong loops sewn into the best to which I attatch a bungee, its so comfortable, and I now detect for hour longer.
Because of the flexibility in adjustment it was be worn in the summer over a teashirt, and in the winter it can be adjusted to be worn over  even the biggest coat!!
Perhaps have a look at the army surplus stores,or ask Val !!!
Hope this helps, but I would never get rid of it,its soooo comfortable, its better than ay thing else in the line of metal detector harnesses on the market !!!!

I do try t stay away from your detecting wales forum..lol
I tend not to comment on things you comment on which is quite hard due to the amount of posts you comment on.
I'm not sure what else t do t be honest...
I'm sure there will be some childish reaction to this comment... 😁

I don't think the centre saxophone harness would be any good  pull the weight  being centre clip on chest as well .And yes troutmasterfunk I have not see anybody use this type of harness on beach or field like you said  :).But I do believe dingdong has found a good harness to work with for now,,,,mogs
